Welcome to the Honey Bee Research Laboratory at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

The Lamas lab is both a core facility, providing molecular services to stakeholders, and a research lab that carries out basic and applied research in honey bee health. We are a disease ecology lab. We broadly study how behavior drivesdisease transmission in honey bee colonies. Our mission is to improve honey bee health to support managed pollination. Our services and research directly benefits pollination for specialty crops in the United States. Please navigate throughout the site for the research, lab services and the people behind it all.
